International Interuniversity Olympiad in Accounting
On April 13, 2022, the Central Asian Innovation University, together with the professional organization of accountants “Association of Accountants”, held the International Interuniversity Olympiad in Accounting among students enrolled in educational programs in the field of accounting and auditing.
The Olympiad was held offline (among universities in Shymkent) and online.
The task of the Olympiad included two rounds, on the first of which it was necessary to solve 30 test questions (60 points), on the second – two tasks (respectively 15 and 25 points). The content of the assignment covered the main topics of such disciplines as “Fundamentals of Accounting”, “Financial Accounting”, “International Financial Reporting Standards”. Together with the answers to the tasks, the participating teams sent to the email of the organizers of the Olympiad, as confirmation, video recordings of the discussion of the solution of tasks by all team members (online services Zoom, Webex).
17 teams from 14 leading universities of Kazakhstan participated in the Olympiad (Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (Almaty), Central Asian Innovation University (Shymkent), West Kazakhstan University named after M. Utemisov (Uralsk), Karaganda Industrial University (Temirtau), Eurasian Technological University (Almaty), Miras University (Shymkent), Shymkent University (Shymkent), International Kazakh-Turkish University named after H.A. Yasawi (Turkestan) , Kyrgyzstan (NOU UNPK “International University of Kyrgyzstan” (Bishkek), Jalal-Abad State University (Jalal-Abad), Russia (Russian University of Peoples’ Friendship (Moscow), Tambov State University G.R. Derzhavin ( Tambov)).
To evaluate the responses of the participating teams, the Central Asian Innovative University created an independent jury of representatives of external organizations. Chairman of the jury, director of the professional organization of accountants “Association of Accountants” Asanbekova S.N., members of the jury – chief expert of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs “Atameken” Abdikadirova A.M., chief accountant of KNN Group LLP Batyrbekov K.P.
By the decision of the jury, the winning teams were determined and the results of the Olympiad were announced. According to the results of the Olympiad, teams of the following universities were awarded diplomas:
- first place – Central Asian Innovation University and the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia;
- second place – Kazakh National Agrarian Research University and Shymkent University;
- third place – Eurasian Technological University, West Kazakhstan University named after M. Utemisov, Karaganda Industrial University.
Each student was awarded certificates of participation in the Olympiad.
