The literary contest “Light of the Ever-Burning Star” – in honor of Mardan Saparbayev.

On April 1, 2025, in the assembly hall of the Central Asian Innovation University, the winners and participants of the Regional Literary Competition “The Light of the Unquenchable Star” dedicated to the memory of Mardan Baimurzaevich Saparbayev and the 30th anniversary of the Institute of Academician Mardan Saparbayev, held on the basis of the Central Asian Innovation University, were awarded.

The goal is to create conditions for the cognitive interest of Kazakhstani youth in the fate and professional activities of M. Saparbayev, to identify and support gifted students, talented authors, and to provide them with the opportunity to express themselves through their own original works.

In honor of the anniversary, participation was free. But works were accepted in Kazakh, Russian, English; in three literary nominations: prose, poetry, journalism; in three age categories: 8-17 years, 18-25 years, 26 and older; to all those who cherish the memory of the fate and work of M. Saparbayev. Therefore, there were a lot of cups and diplomas, certificates and letters of thanks, memorable prizes.

In total, the Competition Organizing Committee received 226 works of different genres, ages and in three languages: 106 in Russian, 75 in Kazakh, and 45 in English. Of these, 12 works won 1st place, 10 participants won 2nd place, and 11 participants won 3rd place. Special attention was given to our guests from the Glazov Engineering and Pedagogical University (Russia, Udmurtia), who happily accepted the invitation and sent 6 essays in Russian and one work in Kazakh. Students and their leaders from secondary school No. 14 named after. M. Saparbaeva, Boraldai secondary school (Baidibek district), secondary school named after. Sagadata Nurmagambetov (Ordabasinsky district), gymnasium school No. 1 named after. A.S. Pushkin, “School of Madeira Merey”, school-gymnasium “Turan” (Turkestan), college “Kozha Akhmet Yasaui” (Turkestan), college “Parasat”, etc. Students and their creative mentors from six departments of the Central Asian Institute of Management did not go without awards. Based on the results of the literary competition, it is planned to publish a collection of creative works.

Such large-scale participation of Kazakhstani youth in memory of Academician Mardan Saparbayev testifies to his outstanding contribution to the development of sports, science and education in Kazakhstan. A school, street, college and many other geographical objects in the Turkestan region are named after him. Mardan Saparbayev left behind a huge legacy – a new model university that preserves national identity.

That is why he always said: “I live in my affairs and my students”.
