CAIU students took part in drone competitions at Digital Almaty 2025

The VII International Forum Digital Almaty 2025 was held in Almaty from January 31 to February 1. This year, the main theme of the event was the development of artificial intelligence technologies in the industrial sector under the slogan Industrial AI: technologies for a new era. The forum brought together startups, investors, business representatives and government agencies to discuss key issues in the field of digital transformation.

Students of the Central Asian Innovation University studying at the Department of Engineering and Information Technology, led by Alisher Turakulov, Omar Nurbek and Berdikul Yedige, took an active part in this large-scale event. The forum hosted competitions in various sections, including robotics, artificial intelligence, programming, and drone technology. Each of these sections included competitive stages where participants demonstrated their technical skills and innovative solutions.

The Digital Almaty Multi-Drone Championship (MDC) drone football championship aroused particular interest. It was in this competition that the students of the Central Asian Innovation University took part, demonstrating a high level of training and strategic thinking. Their team successfully overcame the qualifying stages and reached the semifinals, showing excellent results in several categories.

In addition to participating in the competitions, students were able to get acquainted with advanced developments in the field of artificial intelligence, attended panel discussions with global experts such as Richard Stirling (CEO of Oxford Insights) and Nick Davydov (founder of Gagarin Capital). The forum also included a plenary session of the EAEU Prime Ministers and the Digital Almaty Awards ceremony.

Participation in such events gives students the opportunity not only to strengthen practical skills, but also to establish useful professional contacts.
